Assignment 2

Due date
November 10, 15:00

Content

Reformulate your research question to ensure it is clear. Connect your research question to a field site. As discussed in the lecture, this does not have to be a bounded location. What relations and constellations does your field site revolve around? What are possible entry points for research? What strategies can you employ to access your site so you can talk to people, hang out, observe, and possibly administer other research instruments? What units of measurement can you interact with and how? Justify your strategies and explain what possible tradeoffs may be involved.

Criteria

The assignment will be graded according to the following criteria:

  • Quality of question: Does the question promise learning something new about our social world? Is it clear?
  • Quality of discussion: Does the discussion clarify what relations, constellations or processes constitute the field? Does it specify entry points? Does the explanation provide clear and convincing strategies for access and measurement? Does it discuss possible tradeoffs?
  • Structure and style: Is the text well written and structured, free of spelling or grammatical errors, and correctly referenced when needed?

The assignment should be appropriately 600 words in length. Please submit via Brightspace.
